Cozy, cheesy, and perfect for fall or winter gatherings

This Sweater Weather Dip is a warm, hearty appetizer that’s creamy, cheesy, and loaded with delicious savory flavors. Perfect for chilly days and gatherings with friends or family, this dip pairs beautifully with crackers, toasted bread, or fresh veggies.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • ½ cup cooked and crumbled bacon

  • ½ cup diced green onions

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Optional: ½ cup diced jalapeños for heat

  • Optional: ¼ cup chopped parsley or chives for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a small baking dish.

  2. Mix the Base
In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream. Stir until smooth and creamy.

  3. Add the Cheeses and Flavorings
Stir in the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, cooked bacon, green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until evenly combined. If you like a little heat, fold in the diced jalapeños.

  4. Bake
Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the dip is hot and bubbly and the top is lightly golden.

  5. Serve Warm
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with chopped parsley or chives if desired.

Serving Suggestions

Serve this cozy dip with:

  • Toasted baguette slices or breadsticks

  • Crackers or pita chips

  • Fresh vegetable sticks (carrots, celery, bell peppers)

Tips

  • For extra creaminess, add a little shredded Parmesan or Gruyère.

  • Make ahead by mixing the ingredients, storing in the fridge, and baking right before serving.

  • If you prefer a thicker dip, reduce the sour cream slightly.

Storage

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the oven or microwave before serving.
