Crescent Roll Cheesecake Casserole is a creamy, sweet dessert that’s easy to make and impossible to resist. Layers of soft crescent rolls and sweetened cream cheese bake up into a light, fluffy, and rich treat — perfect for brunch, potlucks, holidays, or casual dessert nights.
Ingredients
For the Base
-
2 cans crescent roll dough (8 ounces each)
-
16 ounces cream cheese, softened
-
¾ cup granulated sugar
-
2 large eggs
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
Zest of 1 lemon (optional, brightens flavor)
For the Topping
-
½ cup granulated sugar
-
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
-
2–3 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
Step 1 — Preheat and Prepare Pan
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or spray it with non-stick cooking spray.
Step 2 — Layer the Crescent Dough
Unroll the crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, sealing seams as best you can so the bottom is mostly covered.
Step 3 — Make the Cheesecake Filling
In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with the sugar until smooth and creamy. Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and lemon zest if using. Continue beating until well combined and silky.
Step 4 — Assemble
Pour the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crescent dough base and spread gently with a spatula.
Step 5 — Add the Topping
In a small bowl, mix together the topping sugar and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture over the cheesecake layer. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cinnamon-sugar topping.
Step 6 — Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 30–35 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center is set (a toothpick inserted near the middle should come out mostly clean).
Step 7 — Cool and Serve
Allow the casserole to cool before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Tips for Best Results
-
Let the cream cheese soften at room temperature for easier mixing
-
Be sure to press the crescent dough seams together to minimize holes
-
You can sprinkle a little extra cinnamon-sugar on top after baking for added sweetness
