Apple Fritters
Description:
Apple fritters are classic fried pastries filled with tender apple pieces and warm spices, then finished with a sweet glaze. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, they make a comforting breakfast treat or dessert, especially when served warm.

2 large eggs

¾ cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 tablespoons melted butter

1½ cups peeled, finely diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
For frying

Glaze

1 cup powdered sugar

2–3 tablespoons milk

½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

In a separate bowl, beat eggs, milk, vanilla, and melted butter.

Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix just until combined.

Fold in diced apples.

Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).

Drop batter by large spoonfuls into the hot oil, flattening slightly.

Fry for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Remove fritters and drain on paper towels.

Whisk glaze ingredients until smooth and drizzle over warm fritters.

Keep apple pieces small so the fritters cook evenly.
