Ingredients
Meatloaf

1½ pounds ground beef

1 cup breadcrumbs

½ cup milk

2 large eggs

1 small onion, finely chopped

1 green bell pepper, finely chopped

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and black pepper to taste
Cheese Filling & Topping

1½ cups shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese

½ cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan or line with foil.

In a skillet over medium heat, sauté onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms (if using) until softened. Let cool slightly.

In a large bowl, mix breadcrumbs and milk until soaked.

Add eggs, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

Gently mix in ground beef and sautéed vegetables until just combined.

Press half of the meat mixture into the prepared pan.

Sprinkle half of the cheese evenly over the meat.

Top with remaining meat mixture and seal edges.

Bake uncovered for 45 minutes.

Remove from oven, sprinkle remaining cheese on top, and return to oven.

Bake an additional 15–20 minutes until cooked through and cheese is melted.

Let rest 10 minutes before slicing.
