If you’re looking for a spicy, crunchy, and irresistible snack, you’ve come to the right place! Alabama Firecrackers are a southern classic that combines crackers with a bold blend of spices to deliver a unique snack that’s perfect for any gathering or game day. This Alabama Firecrackers recipe is simple, with just a few ingredients and steps, but it packs a punch of flavor that’ll have everyone asking for more. Whether you’re a fan of fiery snacks or simply want a fun recipe to try, these crackers are sure to please.

INGREDIENTS
1 (12 oz.) box of crackers – Saltine or Ritz-style crackers work best
¾ cup olive oil – Adds richness and helps the seasonings stick
2 tablespoons Italian seasoning – For a savory, herby flavor
3 tablespoons chili flakes – To bring the signature fiery kick
Optional substitutions:

For a lighter option, swap olive oil with avocado oil.
If you prefer a milder flavor, reduce the chili flakes or substitute with smoked paprika

How To Make ALABAMA FIRECRACKERS

Step 1: Prepare the Crackers
Place your crackers in a large Ziploc bag. This helps coat them evenly without any mess.

Step 2: Add Olive Oil
Pour the olive oil over the crackers. Close the bag and gently toss the crackers to ensure they’re well coated. Using olive oil ensures the spices stick to every cracker.

Step 3: Seasoning Time
Add the Italian seasoning and chili flakes to the bag. Seal the bag and shake it again, flipping it over multiple times so each cracker gets evenly seasoned.

Step 4: Marinate Overnight
Leave the sealed bag at room temperature overnight, flipping it occasionally. This step is crucial because it allows the flavors to infuse and intensify.

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy!
The next day, your Alabama Firecrackers are ready! Serve them as is, or with a creamy dip to balance the heat.

NOTES
Use fresh spices: Fresh Italian seasoning and chili flakes will elevate the taste.
Experiment with flavors: Try adding garlic powder, smoked paprika, or a hint of black pepper for extra depth.
Control the spice level: If you want less heat, start with 1 tablespoon of chili flakes, taste, and adjust.
