Cracker Barrel Meatloaf

Description:
Cracker Barrel–style meatloaf is a comforting, homestyle classic made with tender ground beef, buttery crackers, and a sweet, tangy tomato glaze. Moist, flavorful, and hearty, it’s perfect for a family dinner paired with mashed potatoes and green beans.

Ingredients

Meatloaf

  • 1½ pounds ground beef (80/20 works best)

  • 1 sleeve Ritz crackers, crushed

  • ½ cup milk

  • 2 large eggs

  • ½ cup finely chopped onion

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Glaze

  • ¾ cup ketchup

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan or line with foil.

  2. In a large bowl, mix crushed crackers and milk. Let soak 1 minute.

  3. Add eggs, onion, salt, and pepper. Stir until combined.

  4. Gently mix in ground beef until just combined.

  5. Press mixture into prepared loaf pan.

  6. In a small bowl, stir together ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard.

  7. Spread glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.

  8. Bake uncovered for 60–70 minutes, until cooked through.

  9. Let rest 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Tips and Variations

  • Use half ground beef and half ground pork for extra juiciness.

  • Add a pinch of garlic powder for more flavor.

  • Leftovers make great sandwiches the next day.
